The FutureChina Global Forum (FCGF) 2017 was held by Business China at Shangri-La Hotel Singapore on 13 and 14 July 2017. CNQC was invited to attend and speak at the forum for the third consecutive year.
CNQC International Holdings Limited’s Honorary Chairman Mr Du Bo, Director Mr Wang Xianmao, Executive Director and CEO Mr Wang Congyuan, Executive Director Mr Zhang Yuqiang, Executive Director and CNQC (South Pacific) Holding Pte Ltd’s CEO Mr Wang Linxuan and other delegates of CNQC attended the forum. As a speaker at the forum, Mr Wang Congyuan shared Chinese enterprises’ experiences for strengthening development in countries along the Belt and Road, with a focus on CNQC’s strategy of “Localization, Internationalization and Integration”.
The annual forum, themed “Strengthening Partnerships: In The Future Economy, Belt and Road”brought together some 500 corporate leaders, senior executives and renowned academics to discuss the opportunities in the future economy and areas for potential collaboration in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
Guest-of-Honour Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister Mr Teo Chee Hean said that Singapore will work with China to help realise the BRI and outlined broadly at the opening lunch three key areas of cooperation, which are enhancing physical and digital connectivity, enhancing financial cooperation and enhancing people-to-people connectivity.
During the period, Mr Du Bo and other delegates of CNQC met and interacted with Chairman of Business China Mr Lee Yi Shyan, Minister in Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister for Manpower and Foreign Affairs Ms Teo Li Min, Former Minister of State for Manpower Mr Teo Ser Luck, Chairman of Changi Airport Group and Surbana Jurong Mr Liew Mun Leng, Singapore’s Father of Urban Planning Dr Liu Thai Ker, etc.
On 14 July 2017, FCGF’s Closing Dinner was held in conjunction with Business China’s 10th Anniversary Celebration and the 8th edition of the Business China Awards. Mr Du Bo attended the events at the same table with Standing Committee Member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, President of China’s Association for Relations across the Taiwan Straits, PRC Dr Chen Deming and Singapore’s Prime Minister Mr Lee Hsien Loong. Prime Minister Lee shared his insights in the dialogue session with more than 700 distinguished guests and stakeholders.
Business China was launched jointly by Singapore’s Founding Prime Minister Mr Lee Kuan Yew and China’s Former Premier Mr Wen Jiabao as a platform integrating Chinese language, culture and economy. An important part of its mission is to strengthen Singapore as a cultural and economic bridge linking the world and China.
CNQC’s strategy of “Localization, Internationalization and Integration” shared during the forum was reported by multimedia such as China’ Xinhuanet and Singapore’s Mediacorp. Xinhuanet published an interview report on how CNQC advances its localization strategy. Singapore’s The Business Times published CNQC’s article — Riding the BRI with partners for mutual win-win outcomes.
