The foundation works involved installing 18 nos. Bored pile and 53 nos. H piles.  The average length of each bored pile and each H pile were 17m and 20m respectively. The excavation area are consisted of 10070m3 of soil and rock. Excavation was carried out in different stages. To facilitate excavation, pipe pile wall and sheet pile wall system were installed within the site.The site were located at the City University of Hong Kong which were all very sensitive to noise and dust. Various safety and environmental measures needed to be implemented at site especially during the rock breaking works to minimize its effect on the adjacent surroundings, such as all machines were fitted with exhaust purifier to remove harmful gas and unburned diesel and deployment of hydraulic splitter for work excavation to reduce the noise generated.
